Information of Boost Dose

  • Several groups [11,12,13] report that the present methods for targeting the boost radiation often miss the intended target.

  • Oh [17] et al report that even when image guidance is used with conventional radiotherapy, in more than 50% of cases the boost dose does not adequately cover the intended target.

  • Oh [17] et al also report that further improvement in local control may be expected if the boost dose is administered more accurately.

  • Surgical clips, according to recent report [14,15,16] have proved beneficial for targeting the boost dose.
